Top Jobs of 2009 Salary breakdown

Not all of us can become singers, actors, models and sports stars with their multi-million dollar pay checks. However, there are other professions which may not give you the champagne wishes and caviar dreams but will definitely give you more than just a comfortable living.

One of the highest paying sectors is of medical science and health care. Surgeons top the list in this sector by making a whopping $200,000 per annum. Next in line are anesthesiologists who make an estimated $ 182, 000 per year. They are closely followed by gynecologists and obstetricians with their estimated annual earnings of $ 180,000. Dentists lag behind with annual pay packets of $133,000. The only other people who make more than health care professionals are CEOs. But then again it takes a person years to reach that position in an organization.

Don't be disheartened just because you don't have a swanky college degree. There are professions where you can make a decent living even if you haven't passed your high school. These professions are

Drafter

Electrician

Construction Manager

Industrial Production Manager

Bailiff, jailers and correctional officers

All the above professions have an estimated annual income in the range of $32,000 to $37,000

A person can also make a good living with just a high school degree in hand. There are many sectors which induct people based on their experience and expertise with very little formal education. Some such occupations are-

Computer programmers

Analysts (Systems and Data communication)

Administrators (Database and Computer Systems)

The pay scale here ranges from $48,000 to $55,000.

Many sectors hire people with basic formal education. Training is then imparted to recruits which equips them with the skills necessary to perform their jobs. One such profession is that of an air traffic controller.

Nice collation of incomes and careers, seen "stacked" the way you put together your post was clever. It would make a good poster for the hallway in a high school. Good work!
